I love cooking and baking and creating new recipes for delicious treats. And I love books and stories--especially KidLit! I especially love the way food and story help to bring us together as friends, family, community. Here are some of my favorite treats, along with the books that helped to inspire the recipes.

I hope you enjoy these delicious desserts as much as I enjoyed creating the recipes! I'm providing them here as a gift of love, with no ads or paywalls. I only ask that if you share the recipes, please link back to me and give me credit as the recipe creator. (I also pledge to link to and  acknowledge any recipe creators that might inspire my recipes, if applicable.)

You can browse all of the #KidLitConfections recipes on this main page where recipes are listed in order of when they were shared to my blog, or sort by type of recipe (cookie, pie, etc.), dietary needs (gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan), or book type (Picture Book, Middle Grade, or Young Adult, where recipes are sorted alphabetically by book title) to find the treat  your heart desires.

And please consider purchasing the highlighted books in this #KidLitConfections series for yourself, for someone you love, or to donate to a child who may need to see themselves in the books they are reading. You can find all of the books from the #KidLitConfections recipe series on this list at bookshop.org or by clicking on the book images in each blog post.

If you don't have the budget to purchase the books (or even if you purchase multiple copies for everyone on your gift list), please request them from your local library! Most public libraries have an easy process to suggest book purchases, because they want to spend their budgets on the books they know their patrons want to read. And the more we support our local public libraries, the more we can make books accessible to readers who need to find them. If you can't find a link to request a book on your local library's website, ask your favorite children's librarian for help!

Before I was creating #KidLitConfections to go with my favorite books from children's literature, I was sharing recipes for Crockpot Cuisine and other delicious dishes on my blog. You can still find these favorite recipes, including main dishes, sides, and other savory sensations on the regular recipes page of my website.

If you have a suggestion for a book you would like me to read for this series, please send me a message via the form on my contact page. If you are an author and would like me to consider your book, please feel free to suggest it! If it's not published yet, but you would like me to consider creating a special recipe for your book release, I would love to read an advance copy. I make no promises. This is a labor of love for me, and I cannot guarantee I will love the books you suggest or submit. But I love to read. I love getting reading suggestions. And I would love to connect with you over our shared love of stories! I'll be sure to tag you on all my social media if I use your book or book suggestion in a future post.
