Cinnamon Roll Dough

  • 2 1/3 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 2 Tbsp. yeast
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 6 1/2c. flour

Instructions:

In large mixing bowl, stir together water, oil, yeast and sugar. Let sit 15 minutes.

Add salt, cinnamon and 3 1/2 c. flour. Mix well.

Stir in remaining flour, 1 c. at a time.

Knead until no longer sticky. (Resist the urge to add more flour before kneading, as the kneading process will develop the gluten and eliminate the need. Adding too much flour can lead to tough, dry rolls. If, however, dough is still super-sticky after 15-20 minutes of kneading, you may need to add a bit more flour, a few tablespoons full at a time.)

Use to make Crock Pot Cinnamon Rolls.

*Variation: You can form cinnamon rolls as directed in linked recipe and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes.
