In preparation for the SCBWI MD/DE/WV spring writer's conference (March 22-23), the lovely ladies at the As The Eraser Burns blog are posting weekly writing challenges for us, and as always, I'm determined to complete each of the 8 conference challenges.
This week's challenge (inspired by the Toby Keith song, "How Do You Like Me Now?") asks us to imagine 2 characters. One was snubbed by the other in high school, but the snubbed character has gone on to great success in life. We were challenged to write the greeting for a Valentine's Day card from the snubbed person to the snubber. Of course, I couldn't write a Valentine's card greeting without designing a pretty card to put it on... but since I'm not an artist, I cheated on the card part and downloaded backgrounds from this site. Oh, and I wrote two cards. Because I couldn't decide which one I liked better.
