Just for Fun

Pete MacDonald

Trumpet Section-Leader: Southbrook High School Marching Band

Alaina Andersen wants me.  Not to toot my own horn or anything, but it's pretty obvious.  She's been obsessed with me since the summer before 9th grade.  She used to follow me around band camp like a little lost puppy.  Every time I pulled out my trumpet to practice my solo, there she was.  She tried to act casual about it and everything whenever she walked in on my private practice rooms.  She always said she was just looking for a quiet place to sit and write in that diary she carries around.  But when I said she could use the other side of the practice room to write while I practiced my solo, she didn't say no.  Alaina tried to convince me that my solo was soothing, but I'm not stupid.  No one thinks trumpets are "soothing!"  I know she was just in there so she could check me out.

Her obsession with me has been growing.  She's been popping up all over the place lately.  She comes in almost every single time I work a shift at Burger King.  I'll be there, flipping burgers and minding my own business, when suddenly she's there, giggling and peeking flirtatiously through that gorgeous blonde hair of hers.  Usually, she doesn't even buy any food.  She just comes in and asks for a cup of ice water.  Then she takes half an hour or more to drink it while she stands at the counter talking to that douche bag Crawford.  I'm not blind, and I'm not an idiot.  I know she's not really coming in for water.  I can see the way she stares at me.

And every time I go to the park to play basketball with Mike, Alaina just "happens" to show up.  She'll walk laps around the lake with Johnson for the entire time I'm shooting hoops.  She knows I'll notice her long legs in those tiny shorts she wears.  I think she's trying to make me jealous or something, but I'm not dumb enough to actually think there's anything going on between them.  They've been friends since, like, Kindergarten or something.  If he was going to make a move on her, he would've hit that by now.  She's just stalking me or something.

Yeah, it's kind of creepy.  Alaina has taken this obsession with me to an unhealthy extreme.  I keep waiting for her to go all psycho on me, like in that old movie, Fatal Attraction or something.  And maybe I should do something to protect myself from her.  But let's face it, Alaina Andersen is hot!  A guy can put up with a whole lotta crazy if it means he gets to see a girl like that naked.

Granted, I haven't actually seen her naked.  Yet.  But she's dropped plenty of hints.  And she wears these tiny tank tops under her band uniform, showing off her assets, if you know what I mean.  No way she would dress like that if she wasn't looking to get some!  She tries to act all shy and everything when I talk to her.  Playing hard to get, you know?  But I know it's just a matter of time before she gives in to her obsession and shows up in my bedroom wearing nothing but a smile.  Let's just say I know exactly how to handle that situation!
